Welcome to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science (SC) website for the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) Management and Operating (M&O) contract competition.

BNL is a multi-program laboratory conducting research in nuclear and high-energy physics, physics and chemistry of materials, environmental and energy research, nonproliferation, neurosciences and medical imaging, and structural biology. Unique user research facilities include the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, National Synchrotron Light Source, Center for Functional Nanomaterials, NASA Space Radiation Laboratory and the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Facility.

The purpose of this contract competition is to solicit and award a new M&O contract that will result in improved contractor performance and cost efficiencies at BNL. DOE expects that this competition will elicit new and innovative approaches for planning the Laboratory’s future. The successful offeror will be expected to assume full responsibility for Laboratory operations on January 5, 2015.
